8 English 6 Social Studies 6 Science (Biology is required) 6 Math (Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II are required) 2 PE and 1 Health credit 11 electives Core 40 with Honors
Same requirements as the Core 40 plus: 2 Fine Arts credits
4 AP credits 2 Extra Math credits 6 Foreign Language (or 2-2) Earn a grade of C or better in each course Maintain a 3.0 GPA 47 total credits General Credit Guidelines Failed core courses must be repeated for a passing grade
Must earn all 40 credits for a Core 40 diploma AP and Honors classes are scored on a weighted scale 2 years of foreign language is suggested Sophomore/Junior Checklist Transcripts- credits, GPA, diploma type Plan for after high school- college, military, work Research colleges - college visits, home vs. away, cost, required high school courses for a major

ISTEP is the most ideal pathway If ISTEP is not passed and the family agrees to opt out of the ISTEP, then the buckets must be met BUCKET #3 continued The Students Pathway other than ISTEP can be 1 of the below options: Academic Honors Diploma 3 AP classes with a C or
better both semesters for a total of 6 credits SAT scores: Math 530 or higher English 480 or higher ASVAB score of 31 or higher (need not to be military bound) Attend the Area Career
Center and receive 6 credits of a C or better Locally created pathway Local Pathway for Gavit High School 6 Business Classes with a C or better: Preparing for College/Careers Digital Citizenship Accounting Business Law
Principles of Business Management Introduction to Business Must be taken in the classroom And if none of the above are successful this is NOT the IDEAL path The student must have: - 95 % attendance ALL 4 years - taken ONE of the ISTEP, SAT, or ASVAB for a combination of least 3 times
