Almanac Almanacs can be used to find facts such as: Phases of the moon Longest rivers and highest mountains Sports results, such as super bowl winners or Olympic records Career Books

C Books about jobs or careers have a in front of the call number. A book about careers in law might have a call number of C 340 Law If you need to find a book about an authors

life (Stephanie Myers, for example), you would search for her name by selecting SUBJECT Sometimes its hard to choose

a topic for a research paper Finding the right research topic can be difficult. If its too broad you will have trouble covering all of the points you want to make. BIRDS is a topic that is too broad. A topic that is similar, but

more focused would be OWLS. A topic that is similar, but even more focused would be SNOWY OWLS. The opposite problem is when the topic is too NARROW, and you cant find enough information. Look for a similar topic, but one that has more information. A. A topic that is too

narrow might be: The feeding habits of the Garden Snail. B. A broader subject might be: Facts and Information about Snails, Habitat, Anatomy, Reproduction, Feeding and Predators. Topic A will have more information than Topic B because it is BROADER>
